Month of November
Boy have I been busy the past month (and out of town!) Well, the holidays are a time for family- and that is what I have been up to! Today I am going to feature some of my sweet treats that I have been sharing with my family and friends from Halloween, Thanksgiving, a trip home to TX, and more!
Here is a picture of Robbie, 10, one of the kids I babysit for enjoying a pumpkin & cream cheese cupcake on Halloween!
Although you can't see the actual treats-- Let me tell ya they were yummy!!! The first was a mini pumpkin pecan loaf with a brown sugar streussel, and the second- pumpkin sour cream bars with chocolate chips, walnuts & a brown butter icing.
Here is a picture of me with my apple raspberry pie before it went in the oven! It was made with a cinnamon crust & a turbinado sugar glaze!
Here is the pie on Thanksgiving- so crispy, flaky & delicious!!
This is a (poor) shot of the most delicious pumpkin pie I have ever made/eaten!! It was a cream cheese pumpkin filling with an almond spice whipped cream.. MMMMMM!!Here is a picture of my Dad & I during my trip home to TX. It was his birthday-- he is a chocolaholic can you tell???It was a chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese fudge filling, ganache & semisweet chocolate chunks on the outside!
Unfortunately my trip home was because my beautiful mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in October & was having her surgery. I made her these cream cheese sugar cookies with Royal Icing!!
Watch out for HOLIDAY TREATS soon to come on the blog!!

J Thanks so much for all the effort you put into those, it was GREATLY appreciated.

Strawberry Tarts
These delicious strawberry tarts are one of my favorite pastries to make. I love going to the Farmers Market on Sundays and picking up fresh berries/fruit for my fillings and other flavorings. This summer I was definitely stuck on delicious strawberries! These tarts are made with a traditional short dough, pastry cream, strawberry fool (like a jam/filling) and of course fresh strawberries! They are the perfect handheld treat after a meal or even in the morning with your coffee!
Chocolate Toffee Heaven Cake
This cake often goes by a more naughty name "Better than __ Cake", But I prefer Chocolate Toffee Heaven! It is a marble cake with a whipped cream/toffee bits & drizzled caramel filling drenched in sweetened condensed milk.. It is so moist and decadent it's hard to believe!! It has whipped cream frosting on the outside covered with toffee bits.. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the specialty cake for you!!
